Getting your appointment right is important to us - it helps us run to time better. If you can give the receptionist some deatils about what you want that will help them make the right appointment BUT your medical problems are private and we do not need you to tell the telephonists anything that makes you uncomfortable.
Things the receptionist would like to know:
Is your appointment for:
- skin?
- travel?
- normal general practice? or something else - like a medical examination?
- Which doctor you want to see?
- How long you think you need with the doctor?
- Is your problem urgent, semi urgent or routine?
- Do you need to book with sister as well as doctor eg. childhood immunisations?
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK removal of skin lesions unless the doctor has already seen the lesion and discussed what needs to be done.
Please help us get this right, it helps us deal with emergencies.

Home Visits
Due to time constraints we have to limit home visits to patients who really are too unwell to get to the surgery such as palliative care and nursing home patients.
Please try to let us know as soon as possible if you need a home visit.
We are unable to offer home visits beyond the Marsh Road turn-off on the Nelson Bay Road.
